I work in a high school, a high school where 2 students just informed me that the librarian has accused them of stealing books.

“That’s the most wonderful thing I’ve ever heard,” I said. “If I was the librarian and I thought the kids were stealing books I’d cover for them.” And I would. I’d go to my boss and say, “I have no idea how the books keep disappearing. I suuuure hope it stops soon. But if someone really likes reading, what can you do?”

Is it wrong, but I hope the two accused students really are book thieves. They should do it again. That’s one crime I can get behind. As the kids left my office, I sent them off with a hearty, “Steal more books! You can do it!”
